04:10 PM	Panel Discussion - Time to Break the Bias: Moderator - Mette Johansson \| Panelists - Shari Van Cleave, Aradhna Dayal, Kripa Patel & Meenakshi SP 50 minutes Discussion Points: It is time for us to uplift the voices of women everywhere. It’s time for all of us to reflect on and celebrate the strides made in women empowerment globally. Together, we can take it further and make more progress in support of women’s rights socially, economically, culturally, and politically. While it may not be noticeable to many of us, gender biases and stereotypes have been deeply ingrained into our working norms, influencing the way we work – from our hiring processes to our daily environment/workplace/interactions. We must first understand that many of us are not inherently biased by choice but are instead unconsciously conditioned so by the sum of our environments, education, and upbringing. This is the basis and unfortunate reality in which cultures are created and societies are formed. By acknowledging that we are all biased in some way or form, an important step towards breaking these biases is to always take pause, reflect and question whether our actions, responses, and even thoughts to our peers can come across as biased. Our panelists will discuss useful steps in identifying and eliminating any misunderstanding, disagreeability, or ill-will by presenting our best selves to others and equally assuming their best intentions.
5.05 PM	Panel Discussion - Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Matters (DEI): Moderator - Lakshmi Murlidharan \| Panelists - Christina Themar, Rasyida S. Paddy, Ruchira Raj & Ghenwa Habbal 50 minutes Discussion Points: Women are believed to be structured differently—biologically and psychologically—but what aggravates this difference is the inferior societal mental makeup, stereotypes and systematic discrimination meted out to women since their childhood. This perpetuates and endures structural inequalities based solely on a socio-cultural construct—gender. It is imperative for us to realise how catastrophic this can be for us and our society as curbing the freedom of an entire section of the population will not only infringe on their dignity and fundamental freedoms but will also hold back our socio-political and economic progress. Thankfully, Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) have rightfully risen to the top of organizational priorities. Many organizations recognize that focusing on DE&I is simply the right thing to do, but research also finds that prioritizing it is good for business. A diverse workforce positively augments company performance at all levels. However, for a diverse workforce to flourish—including attracting, retaining, and growing diverse talent—companies must enhance inclusion. E&I is a company-wide strategy or set of initiatives designed to remove hidden bias and improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Firstly, diversity supports being sensitive to the needs of others regardless of their ethnicity, cultural background, gender, sexuality, or disability. Secondly, equity extends the practice of impartiality to everyone. Finally, inclusion ensures that employees at every level feel respected and comfortable to speak up and share their ideas. Our esteemed panelists will discuss how promoting DE&I throughout organizations is the first step toward making workers feel safe, respected, and trusted. It builds a sense of belonging, helping to foster stronger relationships built on trust and acceptance between staff and upper management. This not only aids communication and collaboration but also improves empathy and mental health.
06.00 PM	Panel Discussion - From Surviving to Thriving – How the Pandemic has Changed Lives: Moderator - Dr. Neera Gupta \| Panelists - Gina Marescia, Kiran Robinson, Valerie Chow & Kristy-Ann Waugh 50 minutes Discussion Points: Dictionary defines surviving as ‘remaining alive or in existence; living on or continuing to function’, whilst defining thriving as ‘to grow vigorously; to flourish; to progress towards or to prosper’. When the global coronavirus pandemic hit in early 2020, no one knew what the long-term impacts might be on our economies, societies, and our lives. We continued to live rather survive through strange and uncertain times. The pandemic impacted everything we did, from how we worked to how we interacted with each other. Terms like ‘languishing’ and phrases such as ‘the great resignation’ worked their way into our conversations. Just from the definitions itself, one can already tell which one we should be working towards. While survival is good in that it implies continuation, what people really want out of life is to thrive. Thriving requires a mindset of knowing that life is bigger than just the current circumstances and faith that things will ultimately work out. We can have a thriving mentality by simply being purposeful about the things we choose to do. Making sure these activities align with our values. Deliberately deciding how we will spend our time, and focusing on the activities that bring us joy and fulfillment. Maya Angelou’s quote is worth noting: “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style.”

04:10 PM	Panel Discussion - Redefining the Role of Women in our Society: Moderator - Divya Anand \| Panelists - Dr. Noura Al Obeidli, Kelly L. Kuhn, Mukta Arya & Princess Nwakego Ibrahim-Pam 50 minutes Discussion Points: Throughout history, the central role of women in society has ensured the stability, progress and long-term development of nations. Now the time has come to have a global vision to celebrate innovative & extraordinary women and create a global community that is an active force in social, economic and cultural development of nations. With a mission to reposition women for high performance, improved leadership and strong participation across all sectors of the society. When ‘Coronavirus’ had brought the entire world to a complete standstill, women leaders of the world—Angela Merkel of Germany, and Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand and in India, K K Shailaja, Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Kerala state, came forth only to show how better equipped women are with the qualities of leadership, intelligence and courage. Thus, female world leaders have successfully smashed gender prejudices, taboos and decided to be the custodian not only of their lives but also of their State and the world at large. Women empowerment is a process for women to take charge of their lives, in favour of their desires and rights. Even at the micro level, women with regular jobs are adding to change and inspiring every other woman they meet. Our Esteemed Panelists will share how women can engage in the activities of the public sphere and have a direct voice in influencing the matters which concern them or affect their interests in any manner it will lead to a world which has equal opportunities and rights to offer to every gender for real. A change shall arrive but its pace hasn’t been fixed yet.
05.05 PM	Panel Discussion - Building a New Paradigm for Women – How Can Men Help: Moderator - Aldwyn Altuney\| Panelists - Vikas Srivastava, Radhika Unni, Elena Liapounova, Thato Belang & Claude Sassoulas. 50 minutes Discussion Points: Around the world, nearly two-thirds of illiterate people are women—a proportion that has remained unchanged for two decades. Despite progress made toward gender equality, women and girls continue to be held back because of their gender. So how do we unleash women and girls’ full potential? Incredible progress has been made across the globe by increasing support for girls to go to school, addressing violence and discrimination against women and girls and increasing women’s economic empowerment. But in order to accomplish gender equality, we need to look at the root causes of why women and girls are discriminated against in the first place. Underlying all discrimination are gender norms—behaviors and attitudes that prescribe female behavior and limit the potential of women and girls. When a society disregards a woman’s individual and inherent abilities based on predefined stereotypical beliefs, it hinders her ability to fulfill her potential. The good news is, although these stereotypical beliefs can be rigid, they are not static. That’s the challenge and the opportunity we face. Men too can help in building this new paradigm for women as an equal and complementary force in our society. But achieving gender equality is going to require asking hard questions and trying innovative approaches. One of the functions of gender inequality in corporate settings is that often, unquestioningly, systems and processes are built by men and for men. Women’s points of view and perspectives need to be heard, especially in decision-making, and it doesn’t always have to be top-down. Men play an important role in encouraging women to realise their true potential to make both the domestic and the public sphere a better, respectful, and equal arena for themselves.
06:00 PM	Panel Discussion - Importance of Mentorship & Community Building: Moderator - Joanna James \| Panelists - Ramya Bhaskar, Shikha Sarkar, Eva Tasse & Neetha Sanjay 50 minutes Discussion Points: Women have always been a minority in the workforce. And sadly the pandemic had an even more disproportionate impact on women in the workplace. Over 800,000 women have left their jobs. That is four times the number of men who’ve quit. And those that are left behind feel the burden much more. Over the years, many stereotypes have emerged that portray women competing with one another. But one thing pandemic has shown us is that rather than rival other women, women are actually more likely to sponsor each other and help other women rise to the top. Putting a rest to the myth that women would rather compete than support one another. We are now seeing women from all over the world coming together and playing a role in building and empowering their communities. What women need are support networks that can be found in within organization or outside. These communities or programs give women opportunities to build connections and find support. One such program is mentoring. Mentoring plays an important role in helping women learn the skills they need to break down the barriers, gain access to opportunities and cultivates their confidence in an often male-dominated business environment. In addition, company leaders have a lot to gain from mentoring women, including stronger leadership skills. Formal mentoring programs that are geared towards improving inclusivity can build a more cohesive and collaborative workplace. Our amazing panelists will share their valuable experience and discuss when more women lead, it creates a diversified leadership team open to discussing multiple perspectives that improves decision-making and strengthens the organization to face the challenges of the future.

And will help set an example of what can be achieved and hopefully inspire many more women and men to transform their journeys from the ordinary to extraordinary and enable change.
